Advancing Prevention of Pulmonary Fibrosis
This study plans to learn more about pulmonary fibrosis and how it develops. We want to determine if the disease can be detected early, before the lung is permanently scarred. This study will enroll participants who are not currently diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, but who have family members with pulmonary fibrosis. Because there is an increased risk within affected families, this cohort will allow us to learn how pulmonary fibrosis develops, and how the lungs change over time.

AI Assisted Detection of Chest X-Rays

Analysis of Specimens From Individuals With Pulmonary Fibrosis
The etiology of pulmonary fibrosis is unknown. Analyses of blood, genomic DNA, and specimens procured by bronchoscopy, lung biopsy, lung transplantation, clinically-indicated extra-pulmonary biopsies, or post-mortem examination from individuals with this disorder may contribute to our understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms of pulmonary fibrosis. This study aims to develop a tool that helps the medical-nursing team in the identification of the real palliative care needs of each individual patient. A Study Based on Medical Records in Spain That Looks at Diarrhoea Control in People With Pulmonary Fibrosis Who Are Taking Nintedanib
This is an observational, non-interventional, and prospective post authorization safety study (PASS) that will describe the real-world proportion of patients that achieve nintedanib-associated diarrhoea control after 12 weeks of follow-up, in hospital settings in Spain. It will include outpatients (i.e., those attending ambulatory visits) with interstitial lung diseases (IPF) and other progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF) treated with nintedanib (150 mg bid) and having a first episode of diarrhoea after nintedanib initiation.

BIO 300 Oral Suspension in Previously Hospitalized Long COVID Patients
This is a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, two-arm study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of BIO 300 Oral Suspension (BIO 300) as a therapy to improve lung function in patients that were hospitalized for severe COVID-19-related illness and continue to experience post-acute respiratory complications associated with Long-COVID after discharge. Patients will be randomized 1:1 to receive BIO 300 or placebo.

BPF Genetics of ILD Study
The investigators aim to examine the genetic determinants of interstitial lung disease in a cohort of subjects with regular exposure to pigeons, a known cause of one form of interstitial lung disease known as hypersensitivity pneumonitis. In addition we will examine immunological causes for hypersensitivity pneumonitis in this group. We anticipate our work will provide insights of use to clinicians and patients with hypersensitivity pneumonitis and other interstitial lung diseases.
